WELCOME TO AYURYOGA
Our philosophy at AyurYoga is simple – Great Health is Everyone’s Birthright! Mother Nature has blessed us and provided us with all we need to enjoy this great health that is our birthright. So then, why do so many of us experience a myriad of health issues? What are we doing wrong? And what can we do to protect this birthright? At AyurYoga, our mission is to help everyone reclaim great health as his/her birthright, by raising awareness on the following:
-
One can only achieve true wellbeing if one’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual state of being is in a healthy balance. Gaining a deeper understanding of one’s unique individuality on the physical, mental and emotional levels will help one take the right approach to achieve and maintain overall balance and well being.
-
One can incorporate simple practices as part of one’s daily routine, to promote good health & minimize possible health issues.
-
Food that we eat and spices that we use every day is really the best medicine.
-
Ways and means by which one can awaken and nurture one’s innate ability to heal and maintain balance within oneself.
-
Health issues usually begin at the subtle level before manifesting as a physical ailment – understanding this point can go a long way in addressing and preventing many health problems.
We regularly conduct seminars and workshops on Ayurveda & Yoga to distribute this knowledge and help equip people with the means to take better care of their own wellbeing. Our very knowledgeable and highly experienced Ayurvedic Expert is regularly invited to be the guest speaker at various seminars, both in Hong Kong and abroad, and has been featured in major local and regional newspaper, as well as on radio & television in Hong Kong.
Ayurveda Consultant & Healer - Mr. VINOD SHARMA, Hong Kong
Hi, my name is Vinod Sharma – allow me to share with you something about myself.
I was born in India, in a Brahmin family. My forefathers were priests and healers. My paternal grandfather had studied Ayurveda, and my earliest memories of him is watching him at home, preparing herbal remedies using ancient Ayurvedic formulas. The lingering fragrance of herbs and powders, the sight of the mortar & pestle, are forever etched in my mind & is one of my most prominent memories when I recollect my childhood.
My maternal grandfather was a priest and a healer, who used to heal people through energy and mantra healing. One of my uncles used to practice Yoga every day, at sunrise – I used to wake up early in the morning just to watch him practice Yoga, fascinated by his seemingly impossible physical contortions (Asanas) and breathing exercises (Pranayama).
At the age of 7, I developed tonsillitis – doctors recommended surgery to remove my swollen tonsils but I was too afraid to go under the knife. My uncle, who was studying Homeopathy at the time, gave me some homeopathic remedies & within a week my tonsils became normal. This left a lasting impression on me about the efficacy of Homeopathy.
Growing up in a family of healers and medical practitioners, Ayurveda, Homeopathy & Yoga became a way of life for me, right from my childhood – this awakened a deep desire/interest within me to delve deeply into the study Ayurveda, Yoga, Homeopathy & Energy Healing.
So, at the age of 17, I enrolled in the well known Ramtirth Yoga Ashram in Mumbai, often skipping my college lectures to attend Yoga classes! Seeing my keen interest and natural aptitude, the founder of the Ashram, Yogiraj Sri Umeshchandra Yogi, accepted me as his disciple.
As my Guru (Yoga Master), he would spend 3 hours, twice a week, to train me personally in Yoga exercises & techniques while teaching me the secrets of Yoga, as given from Guru to disciple.
My Yoga Guru also introduced me to a great Ayurveda Guru of that time, who also taught me many secrets of Yoga and Ayurveda. The most fascinating skill I learnt from my Ayurveda Guru is the ancient art of “Pulse Reading” – by the blessings of my Guru and through years of practice, I was able to master this skill of Pulse Reading/Diagnosis to a very deep level.
Unfortunately this skill of Pulse Reading is rarely taught nowadays, even at most schools of Ayurveda. Some younger generation of Ayurveda practitioners even go to the extent of saying that “Pulse Reading” is not Ayurvedic!
In addition to learning and practicing the science of Yoga and Ayurveda, my Yoga Guru also encouraged and arranged for me to learn other alternative methodologies like Reflexology, Homeopathy and Tissue salt remedies.
I studied all these sciences/methodologies out of my deep interest for these subjects. At that time, I never imagined that this would actually become my profession in the future!
Despite having a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, and working as an Operations Manager when I first arrived in Hong Kong 27 years ago, within a few short years, I was pulled into teaching Yoga & practicing Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Energy Healing. Seems that it was just meant to be!
Although initially I was doing this part time, for the last 18 years, I have been offering Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Yoga & Healing services full time.
I have travelled to many countries around the world, both East and West (France, Russia, Switzerland, Panama, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Philippines, India, etc.), giving and sharing these wonderful sciences to as many people as possible, while helping them achieve and maintain better health and wellbeing on all levels.
My clients come from all walks of life, from diverse backgrounds, from as young as 8 month old infants to over 80 year old senior citizens! I have helped people deal successfully with various ailments like asthma, bronchitis, arthritis, diabetes, back pain, migraine, insomnia, muscular/joint pains, high/low blood pressure, obesity, panic attacks, fertility, PMS, and much more.
No amount of wealth or fame can substitute for the deep satisfaction and happiness I experience from knowing that I have helped make a positive difference in someone’s life, in the one area that truly matters – Health!
I consider myself very fortunate & blessed to have found my calling in life and would not exchange it for anything in this world!
